Final Project

This project was challenging, being the first time doing an exploded view it was a learning experience. Doing the isometric threads and chamfers were interesting. The hardest part about this drawing was the simplest part, the rod that goes through the head of the screw. It was difficult to draw it in isometric without it looking oblong or dedicated to a certain plane as opposed to a 3D object. Overall this semester was a good one. I have learned many new methods and styles to draw objects. I have learned how to do assemblies and exploded views, both of which will help me in the future with my ambitions in custom computer building. The knowledge i have attained this semester will help me design the computers for my clients. This semester was a very interesting and quite challenging semester, but it was a good one.

Intersections and Developments

These Developments are kinda fun. Interesting to put together, they make you take every aspect into consideration. Every side either folds or needs a flap that is attached or will attach. Overall, these are pretty awesome because once we finish the drawing we print it out on heavy weight paper, cut it out and assemble it. Very interesting and entertaining unit.

Pictorials and Fasteners

This unit was a long one. The drawings were not difficult but took time. This one especially. The paper template for it had us moving to larger tables to fit it on with a long enough parallel bar. The drawing was completed on that then transferred to vellum to add in the color. The whole drawing took about a week. The details on it took the longest, the shingles, window frames and the cupola.

Isometric Drawings

While I've done isometric drawings before, I hadn't done the oblique drawings before. This part of the unit was challenging to figure out the correct sizes and locations of different parts. The cavalier and cabinet drawings were challenging primarily because I have never done them before. Learning a new drawing style can always be a little challenging. The drawing ive inserted was one of the more difficult in the unit. because of the half size depth and the chang in the diameter of all the arcs depending on location.
