Sectional Views

This Unit has been a tough one. We have been working on developing and honing our skills on all the various types of Section views. The types include full sections, half sections, revolved sections, rounds, broken out sections, tubular rounds, removed sections, and offset sections. We have done a wide variety of these in various drawings. The last drawing was probably one of the hardest ones ive ever done. It was an artifact drawing, it was a front and right side half section view of an object that required a sectional view to understand. My object was full of odd slight angles both on the inner side and on the outer side. I have inserted the finished Artifact Drawing. The whole thing was full of odd dimensions with almost nothing but the horizontal crossbars being the same size.

New Dimension Methods

Through this unit I have learned several interesting and useful methods for dimensioning different types of parts for different applications.
These methods were Datum Dimensioning and Tabular Dimensioning. Datum Dimensions are really useful for creating precise parts while Tabular Dimensions are useful for parts with a large number of holes or items going into a catalog or magazine.
These two dimensioning methods are both new to me and I hope to be able to use them more in the future.
